Setting Content Sources
One of the first things you’ll need to do when you create a new grid is set what the source of its content should be, and that’s what you’ll learn to do in this section of the manual.
Note: All the options discussed in this section of the guide can be found under the Source tab:
Let’s take a quick look at what we’ll cover.
Source Type
Essential Grid can use content from several different sources, grouped into three umbrella categories.
This section of the manual will cover how to use each of these three types of content in your grids:
Post, Pages, Custom Posts
This source type is used to bring in content from within your site. It’s great for creating things like beautiful blog presentations, portfolios, and e-commerce displays.
Custom Grid
This source type is used to add a variety of specifically selected content items. It’s ideal for setting up things like curated image galleries, selections of YouTube videos, playlists from SoundCloud, and blends of mixed content.
Stream
This type is used to bring in content from third party platforms such as Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and others. It’s fantastic for bringing the content you post elsewhere all together into one place on your site.
